Sunday School for nursery through Grade 6 will take place from 9:45am to 10:45am. Middle School, High School and Adult classes start at 11am to 12pm with child care provided. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Adult Sunday School

Short-term class: Studies and discusses a wide range of topics over a period of a few weeks. Past topics have included Darwinism, comparative religions, the ethics of Jesus, faith and politics, foundations of Christianity found in the four gospels, and sustainability.

Bible class: Studies and discusses scripture in depth, taking one book of the Bible at a time.

Youth Sunday School

Meets from 11 AM-12 PM concurrent with the adult Sunday School classes. The Middle School class is for 6th-8th grades and meets in the Day Care School-age Room. The High School class is for 9th-12th grades and meets in the Youth Room.

Youth study a variety of Christian topics through videos, games, Bible study, discussions, and other activities. The goal is to enhance prior Christian learning and assist youth in developing their growing faith. A supportive, caring environment is maintained to encourage a desire for Christ-like behavior from all participants.

Youth Sunday School usually concludes with a group prayer and fellowship session with both classes together.

Youth participate in outreach opportunites such as Christmas caroling and visitation of homebound members.

Youth maintain a service project of collecting returnable bottles and cans for Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON).

Kids Club

Children age 3 through 6th grade are eligible to participate; all events are free of charge! Monthly events held most months during the year involve any combination of games, crafts, singing, and snacks (sometimes meals); families with eligible children are strongly encouraged to attend. RSVP to Rick Wiltse at lessons@allegroGR.org beforehand is greatly appreciated for planning purposes.

Check out the 2012 Schedule for Kids Club.

Sunday School for children age 3 through 5th grade is held during the worship service most Sundays during the school year. Typically children participate in the worship service through “A Time With Young Chrisitians”. Following “A Time With Young Christians” children are encouraged to attend Sunday School (a.k.a. Kids Club “Sunday Morning Edition”) Age 3 through 1st grade meets in the Blue Sky Room. 2nd through 5th grade meets in the Education Office.

Classes are taught by trained teachers who have demonstrated a love for children and who desire to share their Christian experience with children.

During Sunday School time, children learn Bible stories & verses and basic Christian concepts through related age-appropriate crafts, skits, and games. An emphasis is placed on creating a loving, safe, friendly atmosphere so that children learn first-hand how to be part of a Christian community. The goal is to establish a foundation of positive experiences that will pave the way for future faith development and lifelong Christian service.

Children from both classes participate in a combined Music Time the last 5-10 minutes of Sunday School, usually in the Day Care School-age Room. During this time an offering is taken, benefitting a service area of choice. Music Time concludes with a group prayer.

Several times during the year the Sunday School children will share their music in the worship service. Following Music Time children are walked to the Fellowship Hall to join their families for Fellowship Time following the worship service. On the way, children are responsible for turning off the Sanctuary lights.

Children are brought back to the worship service to participate in Communion on applicable Sundays. This general plan may vary slightly on a given Sunday.

Children participate in outreach opportunites such as Christmas caroling and visitation of homebound members
