Sunday School for all ages starts at 11am and anyone is welcome to attend.
Adult Sunday School
Short-term class: Studies and discusses a wide range of topics over a period of a few weeks. Past topics have included Darwinism, comparative religions, the ethics of Jesus, faith and politics, foundations of Christianity found in the four gospels, and sustainability.
Bible class: Studies and discusses scripture in depth, taking one book of the Bible at a time.
Children's Sunday School
Explorers class is offered for ages Preschool to Second Grade; Adventurers class is offered for ages Third to Sixth Grade. Sessions for each age-group involve a variety of mediums, including arts & crafts, field trips, music, computers, games, outdoor activities, cooking, mission work, and much more.
Youth Sunday School is for Seventh through Twelfth Grade. The youth are enjoying a film series this year, in order to explore many of life’s tough topics through cinema and then apply their messages to real life. Example titles are Wall-E (taking care of God’s earth), A Christmas Story (commercialism of Christmas), and Remember the Titans (racial tension). Occasional just-for-fun group outings take place after the Sunday School hour throughout the year.
Additional Studies
Signal Strength, a Wednesday evening learning community for adults (6:30-7:30 following Wednesday Supper). Pastor Greg and others lead short-term studies on biblical themes, spiritual disciplines, and Christian beliefs.
JustFaith, is a 30-week group study, designed to deepen participants understanding of mission, compassion and justice. Poverty, race, non-violence, and simple living are some of the topics explored in the light of Christian values and spiritual practices. Disciple Bible Study, 34-week courses designed to familiarize participants with a transformative approach to the biblical story. From the basic course to more advanced modules on particular books of the bible, these challenging courses will deepen your spiritual walk. Contact the church office to find out how to partcipate.
