This group has the mission of learning and promoting ways to help our church and community become better caretakers of God's creation by becoming more environmentally sustainable.
-
We use reusable dishes and utensils at all official church functions.
-
We promote recycling, and as a church, recycle paper, plastics, metal, styrofoam, and glass, and maintain a church compost pile for "recycling" of vegetable waste from our kitchen.
-
Aldersgate hosts the Ambrose Community Garden on our property.
-
An energy assessment has been done on our building, and we are working to implement the improvements suggested.
-
We are replacing our light bulbs with more energy-efficient ones.
The Green Committee welcomes participation and input from any interested persons. For more information, contact the church at 363-3446 or by email at aumcoffice@gmail.com.
