New in 2010, the Plainfield Avenue Corridor Community of Shalom!

A partnership of churches, non-profits, schools, businesses, neighborhoods, and others seeking to foster God’s vision of shalom or well-being in the North End

Training will take place in the first 6 months of the year with a plan to be implemented beginning in the fall
North End Community Ministry and Supper House

provides food and educational opportunities to needy persons. Aldersgate is one of several north end churches supporting this ministry at Plainfield United Methodist Church

connect to Aldersgate by providing donations of food, money or your time as a volunteer to staff the food bank

sponsored by NECM, Supper House is a weekly event at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, which provides a hot meal to those desiring food and fellowship. Aldersgate provides staff for serving the meal every few months
Aldersgate Center for Child Development

In addition to offering excellent child care, ACCD provides opportunities for persons willing to volunteer time with children. If interested, contact the center’s office, 363-1210
Ambrose Community Garden

offers an opportunity for anyone within the community to plant a garden
Memorial Garden of the Pines

offers a place for where the ashes of those who have been cremated can be mingled with the soil

Thanksgiving/Christmas Baskets

provides an opportunity for ministry by linking congregational, individual and community resources with human needs to help eliminate poverty in Kent County
Green Committee

GRACE Hunger Walk

is an ecumenical activity the first Saturday of May which raises money for hunger-related agencies. Walkers obtain pledges of financial support for participating in the walk.

Prayer Ministry
Prayer Chain
is a network of people who commit to praying for special needs as they are made known either by phone or by email
Prayer Quilts

are made by church members, then others are invited to help “tie them off” as they pray for the recipient

are presented to persons with serious health needs, infants at baptisms, and other special situations
