Rev Greg Martin - Pastor
Pastor Greg Martin has served a variety of congregations and higher education ministries in more than 25 years of active ministry. He is an avid cyclist, downhill skier, reader and poet. Greg's wife Jennie is also a United Methodist pastor serving at First UMC downtown. They have two daughters, Katie, a college senior in New York City, and Lexie, a sophomore at Forest Hills Northern High School.
Jennifer Byrne - Administrative Asst
Jen has been a member of Aldersgate since 2000, and has been serving as its Administrative Assistant since 2005. While there are many facets to her position, she is constantly reminded that working at Aldersgate is not “just a job,” it’s a ministry of the heart. She feels blessed to work for and serve the people of this wonderful congregation. She and her husband, Scott, were married in 1991 and they have a son, Evan, who was born in 2001. They are proud members of the Northview schools community.
Andria Savara - Director of Music Ministry
Andria has served at Aldersgate as the Director of Music Ministry since 2005. She oversees the music program, including the adult choir, handbell choir, children's choir, and praise band. She is also a private voice and piano teacher. Raised in northern Illinois, she attended North Central College in Naperville and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Music. She also received a Master of Arts degree in Music Ministry from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
Together, with her husband Justin, they have two young children, Felicity (born in 2007) and Caleb (born in 2009). In her spare time, she sings with the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus and enjoys reading, baking, and gardening.
Lyn Jameyson - Education Director
Lyn has worked with children and youth for over two-thirds of her life, in a variety of settings. For 11 years she served as a camp counselor for elementary and middle schoolers, including 5 years working with children of incarcerated parents at Camp New Day. Lyn is an avid vocalist, instrumentalist and composer, and is the founder and director of Allegro School of Music here in Grand Rapids. She has been a licensed Kindermusik educator since 2001 and works with babies, toddlers, preschoolers and school-agers every week. Lyn and her husband, Dan, have one son, Ronan, who was born in 2005, and they are looking forward to adopting a new baby within the next year.
